Starting at the No.6 Village, our kayak trips run everyday keeping in mind the tide and end in the open ocean at Village No.1 a.k.a the Havelock jetty.
Mangroves protect coastal areas from erosion, storm surges and tsunamis as well as act as a nursery and breeding ground for marine life such as algae, shrimps, barnacles, oysters and mud lobsters to name a few. This exceptional and fragile ecosystem- an elaborate lattice of mangrove roots is of immense ecological importance yet remains one of the most threatened habitats in the world because of natural and demographic pressures.
